Gadfly lets you easily create groupings of friends to help filter out Twitter noise and streamline your Twitter experience. Gadfly creates a few common groups for you, such as Mentions, Favorites and Messages to get you started. Click the "Manage Groups" link to open the Group Management window. Your groups are available everywhere you go and will automatically refresh every few minutes with new tweets.

If Gadfly is able to determine your current location, the "Nearby" group will populate with any tweets by your friends who are close to your location. To change the current Nearby location, open the Nearby group, and in the group header click the current location text. Enter some identifying information such as city, state, zip code or landmark, and Gadfly will change the Nearby group to show tweets from people close to the new location.

The right side of each tweet contains Twitter shortcut buttons: Click them to quickly start a Mention/Reply, Retweet the message, send a Direct Message to the tweeter or add the tweet into your Twitter Favorites. Clicking any highlighted @ username (a Twitter "mention") will create a temporary list containing the user's recent timeline. Clicking a #hashtag creates an auto-refreshing temporary search list for the hashtag.

No more forgetting your friends' screen names: Enter an "@" sign or the letter "d" with a space ("d ") in the Status textbox to view a list of your friends. Continue typing the desired friend’s name to filter the suggestions, and hit the Tab key to insert the selected friend.

Leave the browser behind. Did you know Gadfly can be installed directly onto your desktop? It's simple: right-click anywhere in the Gadfly application and select "Install Gadfly Twitter Client onto this computer". Gadfly can be launched directly from your computer! To remove the desktop installation, simply open the application and select "Remove this application".

For the first time, a Twitter client's community has the ability to recommend tweeters based on YOUR personal likes/dislikes. Select 1-5 stars (1=Poor, 5=Great) for any tweets depending on how much you enjoyed the content; as your list of ratings grow, alongside other Gadfly users' ratings, the "Gadfly Picks" group will begin to recommend tweeters we think you might find valuable. Everyone's Gadfly Picks are different, so keep rating to hone your list to the most valuable, entertaining tweeters in your preferred topics.
